Our Mission
At Therapeutic Journeys Counseling Services (TJCS) we provide a safe space with an open environment to aid our clients in working toward goals they set and allow for vulnerability and acceptance. We believe having a safe and open space is part of setting the stage for the healing process. At TJCS we help people with a variety of challenges and find value in structuring sessions to each person's needs. We often work with people who are experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, trauma, depression, grief/loss, and major life events. Our practice offers services to adolescents and adults.

About Stephanie Thomas, Founder
If you choose to engage in counseling services with me you can expect a collaborative effort to work toward goals you set. I graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) in 2009 and have worked with a variety of clients with different diagnoses, experiences, and goals. I have found that each person has a unique perspective, which is why my approach is to work together to structure therapy sessions in a way that is most beneficial for you.
In my practice I use evidence based approaches to work towards goals set in session. I often utilize Person-Centered therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused brief therapy, Mindfulness Techniques, and Motivational Interviewing dependent upon what is most beneficial for the person I’m working with. As I learn more about the person I’m working with we work together to find the therapeutic style that is the most effective.
